| Ambient
Air Quality Monitoring Station – Pt. Lisas Monitoring
Location |
| In
July 2004, R.O.S.E Environmental Ltd. was successful
in its bid to supply the Environmental Management Authority
(of Trinidad & Tobago) with its first, fully automated
Ambient Air Monitoring system. This is the first of
such locally, in its current configuration, and is indicative
of the growing prominence of air quality management.
|
 |
The shelter is outfitted with a Teledyne Air Pollution
Instrumentation (API) M900 system comprising of an M100E
SO2 , M200E NOx , M300E CO, M400E Ozone analyzers, an
M701A Zero Air Generator and a M700 Mass Flow Calibrator.
Continuous data logging and reporting is facilitated
with an ESC Model 8816 data logger supported by EDAS
Ambient software.
This
is a pilot project which in time will grow into a nationwide
network, simultaneously providing data to assess and
manage air quality. R.O.S.E is responsible for the day
to day operation and maintenance of the shelter. |

As
recent additions to the Pt. Lisas Industrial Estate
(Couva, Trinidad), these Ammonia producers ensure
that they meet their corporate responsibility in quantifying
and mitigating their environmental impacts.
R.O.S.E
is currently engaged in a quarterly environmental noise
monitoring project which involves noise monitoring at
pre-designated locations along the fence line of either
facility to quantify levels emanating from process equipment. |
The
Arrive Alive! ™ Campaign |
 ARRIVE
ALIVE! is a progressive road safety campaign with the
positive and passionate energy to impact and influence
driving behavior on our nation’s roads. Specifically,
Arrive Alive seeks to remind motorists to make the correct
decisions with regard to speed, driving under the influence
of alcohol, the importance and legality of seatbelt
usage, obeyance of all traffic laws and signs, the hazards
of cell phone usage while driving and the critical dangers
of driving when fatigued.
The Arrive Alive project, initiated by BPTT and TCM,
consists of a series of roadblocks outside of or in
near proximity to social functions and also a number
of exhibitions to bring to the forefront the different
aspects of road safety.
ROSE
Environmental Ltd has played an active part in the
Arrive Alive campaign since its inception. ROSE has
provided the Breathalyzers for the breath alcohol
testing along with Breath Alcohol Technicians to conduct
the testing. The instruments used in the testing were
purchased through Intoximeters Inc. out of St Louis,
Missouri of which ROSE is the distributor.
The
drive to prevent accidents due to driving under the
influence of alcohol (DUI) on the roads of Trinidad
has been well received by the public and generated
vast interest from people that were not familiar with
breath alcohol testing.
The
Arrive Alive campaign is structured to be continuous
and has been designed to not only highlight issues
and educate the public but most importantly provide
real and measurable solutions.
